A Legacy of Trust Since 1931
- At Indira Jewellers, our journey is built on a foundation of tradition, craftsmanship, and unwavering trust that spans over nine decades.Our story began in 1931, when our founder, the visionary Deivathiru V.S.S. Muthalagu Chettiar, established Lakshmi Jewellers in Devakottai, then part of the Ramanathapuram district (now Sivaganga). With a commitment to purity and personalized service, he laid the groundwork for a legacy that continues to shine bright.
- Continuing the family tradition into the next generation, in 2013, my son S.M.J. Venkatesh and I established another showroom at the Jhansi Rani Complex, also in Kansa Mettut Street, Madurai. Together, we bring decades of experience, trust, and innovation to our customers ensuring every piece of jewellery tells a story of elegance and excellence.

- In the years that followed, the business flourished under the guidance of both my father and my brother, S.M. Jayaraman, whose combined efforts further strengthened our reputation in the jewellery trade
- Carrying forward this rich heritage, we launched Indira Jewellers in 1985 at Kansa Mettut Street, Madurai. This marked a new chapter blending traditional values with evolving customer needs and contemporary designs
